R4 DS Card – Watch Movies On Your Nintendo DSi and Nintendo 3DS
With a card like the R4 DS card will be doing a lot of things never before imagined in your Nintendo DSi and the new Nintendo 3DS. One of the things I like to do with my card R4 DS to watch movies while on the way to work. I have a trip in 55 minutes each way, so you can often get almost all the way through a movie on the way to work and finish it when you return home. With the built in moonshell media player, you can take full length movies and copy them to the micro SD card, for your viewing pleasure – no matter where they are. I know we all can do this on a cell phone to some, but the fact that I have my DSi with me every day on the way to and from work is what I was fascinated with the R4. My console is already with me, and there was no good reason for me to buy a video capable phone that I can see my films. Not to mention that things like the iPhone, you have to convert to a specific format, and iTunes are often obtained, regardless of whether they actually already have the movie in your DVD collection.
That’s what this board has allowed me to do. I have a lot of DVDs I want to see. Unfortunately, with my work schedule I’m not always able to sit and watch a movie from start to finish when I get home. So this gives me the perfect opportunity to be able to see any of the movies I have. To convert dpg format, which takes about 15 to 20 minutes depending on the film, and put them right on my R4 DS card for later viewing. I have a lot of homebrew games and applications that I can play, provided they do not feel like watching a movie on my DSi.
I am looking into getting the Nintendo 3DS, and thank God, and R4 DS firmware update has been released that will enable this in the 3ds as well. And that’s just good!
